The copy editing service for intuitives and coaches working towards 500k

Give your copy its Cinderella story

You’re only kinda happy with your copy

Those words are pretty, but they’re not getting enquiries. This usually happens in one of two scenarios:

You bravely ventured into the copywriting wilderness armed with nothing but a thesaurus and a prayer. Buyer psychology and Google’s mysterious ways weren’t invited to the party.

Your copy is a time-travelling quilt, patched together from different eras of your business. It’s giving your ideal clients rollercoaster whiplash.

Don’t worry. You don’t have to set fire to everything and start over with new copy (although I’ll bring marshmallows if you do).

Instead, how about a copy editing service that brings consistency to your style? Weaves the secrets of buyer psychology into your messaging? Helps you show up in Google search results?

The Finer Edit: what you’ll get

Your copy whipped into shape. Strategic upgrades that create deep client connections. All without investing in the full copywriting works.

I’ll edit your copy with the following in mind, always in line with the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading’s standards:

I’ll review your page structure and messaging from a buyer psychology point of view to optimise your copy for conversion.

I’ll rephrase repetition and awkward phrasing to make your copy smooth and clear.

I’ll catch complicated sentences and adjust these to improve readability.

I’ll clear up spelling, capitalisation, grammar, punctuation, and hyphenation errors.

I’ll ensure clarity by making concise, compelling language suggestions.

I’ll make style suggestions that are appropriate for your target audience.

I’ll evaluate your overall message and help you hone the angle of your copy.

I’ll help you craft short, catchy introductions and hooks that make readers care.

I’ll make sure your copy includes clear calls to action that encourage readers to take a next step.

I’ll integrate the keywords you’d like to rank for and create or edit your SEO-optimised headings.

Want to be sure I’m the right editor for you? Send me a 300-word extract, and I’ll prepare a free sample edit for you.

Must be from a project of at least 5,000 words.

Upgrade your copy editing service with a free, personalised style guide

Say goodbye to inconsistent content with your complimentary personalised style guide when you book your copy editing project.

When you’re creating brand materials in future, they can match up to the copy I edit for you. From headline hierarchies to spelling preferences, I’ve got it all covered. No more second-guessing or amateur-hour mishaps.

The result? A brand that exudes professionalism, consistency, and undeniable authority.

Best part? It’s yours, absolutely free.

I can base your style guide on New Hart’s Rules (popular in the UK) or AP style (popular in the US).

And if you already have a house style guide, no worries. I’ll give it a glow-up.

Yes, I'm qualified

I’m a Professional member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP), and I have a backdrop of editing and marketing qualifications.

Lots of people call themselves editors because they think they’re good at spotting typos. Editing is so much more than spotting typos. So, this is your sign to check your copy editor is qualified.

(I’m not normally this salty, but I don’t want you to get burned. Most of my clients hired someone cheap and unqualified before they regretted it and hired me.)

Also, I won’t go all ‘Grammar Police’ on you, which is common with non-trained editors. I’m all for breaking grammar rules, as long as we do it consistently and with purpose.

What does copy editing cost?

£50 (64 USD) per hour.

I have an hourly fee rather than a flat fee for my copy editing service because every piece of copy needs a different level of input.

I can provide you with a quote upon seeing a 300-word sample, which I’ll edit for free.

How will you receive your edits?

I’ll use Suggested Changes and comments to make edits in Google Docs.

Copy editing vs proofreading: What's the difference?

People often confuse copy editing with proofreading, but they are different services. Intuitives and coaches typically only need a copy editor for business materials. On the other hand, book publishers hire a separate copy editor and proofreader to carry out these separate services.

If you are writing a book, copy editing comes before proofreading. After the copy editor makes all the changes listed earlier, a designer lays out the text ready to print. The proofreader then examines the design files to check for any last formatting and text errors.
